Rally for Freddie

On the 20th November 2025 Freddie was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

In the 48 hours leading up to his diagnosis we had noticed a couple of mild symptoms we thought needed a GP appointment. The GP wasn’t too concerned with anything just for us to get a blood test and we would see him next week. Before leaving swan hill Fred complained of some chest pain on his left side which we thought was odd so we went to emergency just to be sure before we headed home. That was where we received the devastating diagnosis and were put on a plane to Melbourne where an incredible medical team were waiting for us.

Within a few short hours of arriving Fred began chemotherapy.

Freds prognosis is positive but not without a long, hard road. 9 months of Melbourne based treatment followed by 18 months of maintenance treatment. Currently Fred is in month 7 of his Melbourne based treatment and we couldn’t be prouder of Fred and the way he has faced everything so far. From chemo, lumbar punctures, bone marrow tests, transfusions, minor surgery, trips to ED, a recent trip to PICU, the side effects from treatment , and having to miss out on so much that comes with ‘just being a kid’ he has rarely complained.
